fall obsessions

by Janie

these obsessions are more specific to my favorite season.

okay, so fall is technically tomorrow, but the weather here in ga has been SO nice, i just couldn’t help myself!

1) colorful autumn trees

the prettiest time of year! mmm…love it!

2) autumn scented candles

my mom has been burning this one-it’s amazing!

i LOVE this one, but then again, i LOVE ALL pumpkin scented candles!

3) apple cider

i couldn’t find a picture of THE BEST cider (from Whole Foods deli), but if you can you MUST try it. it even has little bits o’ apple in it! mmm…

of course, homemade is even better, so here’s a great recipe for some!

{gravenstein apple cider-makes 16 (8 oz) servings}

1 gallon Gravenstein apple juice
1 teaspoon ground allspice
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
2 cinnamon sticks, more for garnish
1 tablespoon whole cloves

.combine all ingredients and simmer over low heat for 15 to 20 minutes. remove cinnamon sticks. Ladle into mugs and garnish with fresh cinnamon sticks for each serving.

4) pumpkins

could there be a better symbol for fall?

5) camping-specifically in fall

because we LOVE it SO much, adam and i have made it a tradition to go camping every fall before it gets too cold!

6) brightly colored mums

these are my mum’s mums.

7) jack-o-lanterns (different from pumpkins)

can’t wait to carve, soon!

8 ) autumn breeze

i LOVE getting caught in it!

9) halloween!

i used to love to trick-or-treat, but now i love to hand out candy to trick-or-treaters.

10) thanksgiving!

the BEST food is served during thanksgiving, and if you come to my momma’s house, it’s all HOMEMADE!

yay for fall!

I love fall, too!!! There are so many wonderful rituals and traditions associated with fall…ahh, me. I know it’ll probably get hot again before it officially cools off for the winter, but hey, this weather is sweet. Hope Athens/Atl was good. Missed you!

I LOVE fall. I would say that it is probably my favorite season. I think it is because I love to wear sweaters and scarves but it could also be the smell… And you KNOW Halloween is my favorite holiday. When else do I have an excuse to dress up like a Jedi??
